International Certificate Diving Courses
Northern Cyprus is the ideal place to learn diving in the warm, safe and crystal clear
waters that surround the island.
Try Dive: (2 hours) This gives you basic knowledge of both practical and theoretical
aspects of diving, and also experience the fun of being underwater. All Try Dives are conducted
on a one-to-one basis by a fully qualified instructor. Students continuing with a
CMAS, BSAC or PADI course after a Try Dive
may deduct the cost of the Try Dive from their course fee.
P.A.D.I. TRAINING COURSES
- OPEN WATER DIVER (minimum 5 days)
This course, which is ideal for the holiday maker, consists of confined water training
sessions, 5 open water dives, and Audio Visual lectures, helped by an easily explained
textbook, which makes the theory side of the course both enjoyable and easy to learn.
- ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER (minimum 2 days)
An advanced follow-on to the Open Water Diver course, widening diving to specific
experiences, e.g. Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Low Visibility / Night Diving, Boat Diving,
Search and Recovery, etc. The course consists of 5 open water dives plus tuition.
- RESCUE DIVER (minimum 5 days)
A course designed to give Advanced Open Water divers more confidence by way of open water
and theory sessions in rescue skills, life saving techniques and accident avoidance.
Medic First Aid certification or equivalent, is a pre-requisite.
- MEDIC FIRST AID (minimum 1 day)
This is a lecture room course, where audio visual programmes in first aid, life saving,
etc., are shown, together with practical sessions.
- DIVE MASTER (minimum 14 days)
This is the first professional status within the P.A.D.I. system. The course involves
active participation alongside the instructors whilst training student divers in both
theory and practice; assisting in open water dives and other coursework activities.
Prior to certification, the candidate will be assessed in watermanship and rescue skills
and will be required to sit for a theory exam. Professional membership of P.A.D.I. is
extra. Many worldwide dive centres employ Dive Masters.
C.M.A.S. TRAINING COURSES
- C.M.A.S. ONE STAR (minimum 5 days)
This certification is awarded to divers who are competent in the correct use of all
appropriate open water SCUBA diving equipment. The course is made up of 8 water sessions
and seven clasroom lectures.
- C.M.A.S. TWO STAR (minimum 4 days)
The Two Star Diver is a diver with open water diving experience and is considered capable
to take part in dives partnered by a diver of at least the same or higher grade.
The course is made up of 10 training and dive sessions, and seven lectures covering
Navigation, Night Diving, Deep Diving and Rescue. Entry requirements: since obtaining
the One Star Diver Certificate, the diver should have carried out at least 20 dives, of
which at least 10 should have been in the 10m-30m range.
- C.M.A.S. THREE STAR
This level of C.M.A.S. qualification refers to fully professional divers. Entry
requirements: since obtaining the Two Star Diver Certificate, the diver should have
carried out at least 40 dives in the 10m-30m range, of which 20 should be in the
30m+ range.
B.S.A.C. TRAINING COURSES
- B.S.A.C. NOVICE ONE (minimum 3 days)
The first step up the ladder, providing the essential knowledge and skills needed to
prepare for open water diving. B.S.A.C. membership is not compulsory at this stage.
- B.S.A.C. NOVICE TWO (minimum 1 day)
The first 2 open water dives following the Novice One course. B.S.A.C. membership is
not compulsory at this stage.
- B.S.A.C. SPORTS DIVER (minimum 6 days)
the next step following Novice Two. A series of 8 progressive open water dives involving
completion of water skills and additional training including Rescue, Navigation, SMB
use, and theoretical skills. The certified Sports Diver should be familiar with the use
of SCUBA equipment and techniques, and be relaxed enough to enjoy dives partnered by
divers of the same or higher grade. From this stage, B.S.A.C. membership is compulsory.
- B.S.A.C. DIVE LEADER
Follow up on Sports Diver. This course, which includes 20 open water dives, aims at
producing an active, experienced and responsible diver, competent in Dive Leadership and
Rescue skills. Experienced enough to lead others in open water dives. The Dive Leader is
also considered to be sufficiently experienced for the B.S.A.C. Club Instructor
examination. The course may be split into 2 session periods.
Note: A medical certificate is necessary for all B.S.A.C. courses.
